Mashhad is the hometown of the greatest turquoise mines in the world, where shines as the capital of spirituality due to Imam Reza Holy Shrine in the Silk Road. Tomb of Ferdowsi
Ferdowsi is the hero of Persians who has kept the Persian language alive since one thousand years ago, buried in an Achaemenid style mausoleum.

Golestan Province used to be called Gorgan that means the city of wild wolves is the homeland of nature and culture in Persia. Rainy Forests, green fields and nomads are the city symbols where you find Gonbad Kavus Tower as an architectural masterpiece and Hyrcanian Forest as a fresh-air museum that both registered as Unesco World Heritage.
Our today tour dedicates our passion to Unesco World Heritages which begins with a fresh-air museum of Hyrcanian Forests from the southwest part of the Caspian Sea to the east. In Golestan National Protected Park we explore an ecoregion of broad-leaved forests alive for more than 40 million years ago alongside the Alborz mountain range.

Today, we will experience sunrise shining among the million-year leaves hanging from the trees, while having wildlife songs, soon after we travel to the historical city of Gonbad Kavus to visit a tomb with extraordinary height as an architectural monument which belongs to Qabus King as his mausoleum, it is called Qabus Ibn Voshmgir Tower registered as a UNESCO World Heritage site because of its distinctive cylindrical tower and single material structure built out of brick.

Gonbad-e Qabus
Gonbad-e Qabus, also known as the “Mill of the Dome” is built in the shape of a ten-sided building as the tallest tower in the old world with a height of 72 meters to be a sign of urban fabric along caravans.

Tarikhaneh Mosque is a Sassanid Heritage left in Silk Road as a fire temple rebuilt as a mosque after Arab conquest of Persia with a very identifying Sassanid architectural art.

To continue the exploration, our itinerary allows us to go deeper into the central desert of Persia by travelling to Jandagh village, where is a heritage of Sassanid architectural style as a prison, locating at the innermost part of the desert on the way to Mesr village, then we drive to Mesr to enjoy the identifying characteristics of desertic Heritages in Persia.

Yazd is a city that displays human adaptation to dry nature by identifying architecture. Simple materials to build astonishing structures such as wind-catchers, baths, mosques and houses to preserve the people living in the heart of the desert surprises visitors. In addition, Qanat construction is an ancient engineering knowledge, which conveys water from natural resources, quenches people and farms. The city is the home of Persian sweeties and handwoven souvenirs, where religious diversity enlightens you about Zoroastrians, Jewish, Christians and Muslims in the city centre.

Our Tour to Yazd begins with an expedition to Ardakan Historical Village, where is one of the most important centres for Zoroastrians to admire the co-existence of fire temples and mosques, then we move to Maybod county to explore a region that was Mozaffarid dynasty capital and widely known in terms of architecture and handicrafts in the north of Yazd. Our visits will include Abbasi Caravanserai where displays how travellers relaxed on the way of their tours, after that we take a walk to traditional Water Reservoir which plays a vital role to provide safe and clean water in the desert, soon after we have a glance at the Ice House which feed the county with sufficient ice reminded from winter to summer based on an evaporation engineering masterpiece since 1000 B.C, then we visit Narin Castle, which used to be a fortress during existence, dated back to Achaemenid era.

Today we begin our travel with Yazd Jameh Mosque, where the brilliance of tilling dazzle eyes next to the highest minarets in Iran, depicting harmonious craft between Islamic and Persian architecture, after that we walk to the Fahadan area to explore brick and mud lifestyle with a particular style of construction, where customs and traditions fed the region, to reach Alexander Prison that used to be a school, then we visit Zoroastrians Fire Temple, which is continuously burning for around 2500 years. Then, our exploration continues to Amir Chakhmagh Complex with its gorgeous balanced submerged alcoves in the Tekyeh and historical mosque, soon after we experience traditional form for athletics which used to be for training soldiers for warfare in Zourkhaneh (Pahlavani Rituals).
Our today tour ends with having a pleasant night in the calm atmosphere around the highest wind-catcher in the world with a peculiar architecture in Dowlat Abad Garden.

Kerman is the largest province in Iran with the most precious archaeological landscapes such as Bam Citadel and famed Persian gardens such as Shazdeh Mahan Garden. Kerman is the realm of Persian weaving such as Carpet, Terme and Pate. In addition, the city is not only famous for the widely known Lut Desert but also for the pistachio farms.

On the way to Kerman, we will have an excursion to Pahlavanpur Garden as an identifying Persian garden built during the reign of the Qajar dynasty with a Zandieh architectural style including a bath, summerhouse, kitchen and winter quarter to shape unique orchards registered as a Unesco World Heritage. In the middle of the route, we travel to Rafsanjan to visit the Presidential Museum to have a glance at diplomatic gifts, which are given to Persian diplomats from ancient times to the present era. It is noticeable that Mr Rafsanjani as the previous speaker and president of I. R. Iran, dedicated most of the gifts to the museum as he was from Rafsanjan.

Our exploration continues with Ganjali Khan Complex as a historic district built during Ganjali Khan as governor of Kerman to devote himself to public services. The archive of the area includes a mosque, a bath, Bazaar and a school that attributes to Ganjali Khan Complex prosperity. Then, we visit Shazdeh Mahan Garden as a prototype of a Persian garden with a gorgeous mansion, surrounded by trees and facing fountains and structured in a well-situated location in terms of climate, soon after we take a tour to the Lut Desert, where is widely called the Dasht-e Lut, to experience a salty desert with hottest and driest area in the world. As a result of the Lut identifying natural character, it’s registered as a Unesco World Heritage because of the warmest land surface on earth in Gandom Beryan.

 Lut Kalut
Lut Kalut is an iconic landscape with exceptional landforms and sand-sea which is believed as the best model of unbroken, extent, continuity and height.

When we escape from the helter-skelter of the city to the calm and silent virgin nature of the Lut desert, our soul flies to the sky and floats softly in a sea of stars. When we look at the galaxy in the evening while the sun caresses the soft sands another world shows itself with all details in the Lut Desert.
Lut Desert is a diverse space in biodiversity from animals with extraordinary physical abilities to unique plants such as Nebkas that may be the only inhabitants in the desert that stubbornly strives for life. In addition, Kalut as the sandy hills is the other unique natural element of Lut that describes the identifying environment of Lut. Trees in this region have made a pot out of the plain as the largest found Nebka is around ten meters long and belongs only to Lut. These trees and hills trape in the soil in the Mahan Region, where embraces the warmest spot in the world, locating in the southeast of Kerman province.

Lut Nebkas
Nebkas are the rarest inhabitants of the desert that stubbornly strives for life. These shrubs are trapped in the soil. Trees in this region have made a pot out of the plain. These Desert, which seem mostly turmeric shrubs, are rarely seen in the Lut Desert, but they are the largest pots in the world. The largest found Nebka is around ten meters long and belongs to the Lut Desert.

 

Today tour begins with taking an expedition to Bam Citadel, the largest adobe structure, which embraces ancient stories since more than 1000 B.C., in the world. Bam Citadel renovated by the Achaemenid empire to preserve its mysterious and magical glories. The centre of the citadel is the defensive fortress, which includes a residential area, buildings for lodging soldiers and the governor residence, besides Bazaar, mosque, watchtowers, and gates are other significant constructions.
Sadly, a recent earthquake (2003) destroyed most parts of the citadel but early after that rebuild started, then we will move to visit Rayen Castle that is a well-preserved Sassanid citadel built out of adobe as a live imitation of Bam Citadel before travelling back to Kerman for flying to Shiraz.

Day 17: Shiraz, Home of Persian Heritage

Shiraz, the motherland of Persian Culture with all legendary Achaemenian’s and Sassanian’s heritage, is the city of prose & poem, gardens and flowers. Historical ornaments such as Persepolis and Pasargadae spread through the tale of the province from the Achaemenid empire to the Zand Dynasty. In addition, spirituality always plays a key role in the story of Shirazi people not only during Zoroastrianism but also in the Islamic era.

Today we devote ourselves to Zand dynasty heritages that begins with Kolah Farngi Mansion to experience the ceremonial palace of the Zand Dynasty, where is a Zand legacy museum at the present era. The tour continues with Vakil Historic Bath as an architectural masterpiece built from gypsum, stone and brick. By keeping walking to Vakil Mosque as an entrance door to the Vakil bazaar we experience a royal mosque that derives its fame from the art of architecture, calligraphy and columns engravings. Tourists will be amazed by the passageways in the bazaar, where they experience Shirazi nomads and tribes clothing and purchasing handicrafts. By exploring Vakil Complex we reach Nasir-ol-Molk Mosque, a supreme intellectual and artistic sacred place that proves no comparison with the typical mosques. Persepolis embraces the most significant Achaemenid heritage, not only as an archaeological remain but also as a fact of royal legacies of Persians in Shiraz.

We embark on a full-day tour to Isfahan by having a deep expedition to Pasargadae, the ancient capital of Achaemenid, which was built under the order of Cyrus the Great, with a famous fourfold Persian model of the garden, to explain the nobility of the emperor and his tomb. On the way to Isfahan, we will have an expedition to the Izad Khast Complex, which was built as an adobe structure during the reign of the Sassanid empire, including a fortress, fire temple, caravansary, bathroom and the city of Izad Khast. The complex was renovated after the Arab conquest of Persia by constructing a mosque over the fire temple, also during the Safavid era by adding a caravansary and bridge to be livable till the Qajar dynasty.

Pasargadae ancient city embraces Cyrus the Great Tomb, Pasargadae garden and Prison of Solomon to demonstrates better detail about the first king of Achaemenid empire and the urban structure of the time.

Today is devoted to Kashan legacies that begin with Boroujerdi House that combines the desert style of wind-catchers with Persian models of an iwan with superb plaster-work in interior and exterior decoration. Visa for citizens from the U.S.A, Canada, the Great Britain and South Ireland takes around 40 days to be issued.

It is your responsibility to check your passports valid for 6 months after the date of their return home, also obtaining all necessary info for visas, inoculations and preventative medicines as may be required for the duration of the tour. Visa Restriction: Entry will be refused to travelers with any evidence of visiting Israel – not just Israeli entry stamps.

It is a condition of Iran travel that clients must have comprehensive travel insurance for international tours. We reserve the right to withdraw clients if it becomes apparent that clients are unfit. There will be No refund. It is also a requirement that clients do not cause any significant disruption to the tour or the tour group. GoPersis may refuse admission on the Iran tours, or require the client to withdraw if participation causes significant disruption.

Regarding the number of passengers, Go Persis DMC reserves comfortable and air-conditioned coaches. The coaches take travellers throughout the tour and are at any service at the request of the tour guide. Go Persis DMC manages all airport transfers from your arrival to departure for domestic and international flights. In addition, taking travellers to any train or bus station resumes the itinerary.

Iranian Debit Card is for international travellers to provide them access to the Iranian payment system. Travellers can recharge the Debit cards in currencies such as Kr, EURO and AED. Iran Debit card presents an expiry date, and travellers can receive cash in Rials everywhere. The cardholder can withdraw money from ATMs of all Iranian banks. They can also purchase tickets at museums, go shopping, and even use it for internet shopping services. At the end of the trip, travellers can receive the remaining amount in cash in Rials. Besides, travellers can purchase any other currency at exchange offices.

Iranian cuisine is heavily based on rice, bread, fresh vegetables, herbs and fruit. Meat is mostly lamb or mutton. The national drink of Iran is chai (tea), always served scalding hot, black and strong. All sorts of delicious fresh fruit juices, milkshakes and yoghurt drinks are available throughout Iran.

Alcohol is strictly forbidden. Do not take any alcohol into Iran.

The most visible daily expressions of Iran’s Shi’ite Islam are the modest dress code, and rules for behavior at mosques, both of which apply for men and women.

Dress code for women: Women are required to wear loose-fitting clothing which covers the arms and legs (long pants). A coat or top that comes down to mid-thigh (light weight trench-coat), and a headscarf. During visits to some mosques, women will also be required to wear a special robe provided at the entrance.

Dress code for men: Men are required to wear trousers and shirts with either long-sleeves or half-sleeves. (No singlets). Shorts are not permitted.

On the other hand, the price is fully refundable.

Cancellation 60 days prior to departure date, travelers have to charge 30% of package price.

Cancellation 30 days prior to departure date, travelers have to charge 50% of package price.

Cancellation less than 15 days prior to departure date, travelers have to charge 100% of package price.
